As adults, we often look back and wish we would have been taught something when we were younger.
“If only [fill in the blank]…
“my life would be so much easier now”
“I would be so much further ahead”
“I would have made different choices”
There is no going back, but you can start from where you are now and learn the things you wish you knew more about.
Are they a little more scary when you are older? Yes.
Are you more likely to be gripped by overwhelm or the fear of failure? Yes.
Will you be able to fit learning one more thing in with everything else you have going on? Yes, if it is a priority. If it is not a priority you will easily find an excuse not to do it.
That is the fun part about being adult. We can do what we want, when we want to. And we do not have to do what we do not want to.
Are there consequences? Of course. But we decide if it is worth it or not.
Now, if you want to take it one step further, you will ensure the children in your life learn those lessons you wish you would have been taught when you were younger. You may teach them yourself or you may connect them with someone.
If financial education, or the lack thereof, is something you wish you would have received when you were younger, you are not alone. And, there are so many resources available online or locally, that you can definitely find the teachers who are best for your learning style, your schedule, and your energy. Feel free to email me if you think I might be one of those teachers. I would love to be able to help you reach your goals if we are a good fit. If nothing else, I will help you figure out your next best steps toward your goals.
Do not let your excuses stand between you and a better life. Financial empowerment is priceless. You deserve the freedom financial education can bring you.
