I heard a potentially controversial comment today:
“Anyone who thinks money can solve everything has never had money.”
Okay, that may not be exactly what he said, so I probably should not quote it, but it is very close. In any case, the truth is the same.
So many people think “If I only had more money” that they would no longer have any problems.
The truth is that you will always have problems. It does not matter how rich you are, how thin you are, how healthy you are, or how [fill in the blank with what you feel you are lacking].
The problems change as your circumstances change.
On the flip side, back in the dinosaur age there was a song called “Mo Money Mo Problems”. I have to admit I never listened to this song because the title never sat well with me and, well, it is just not my style. Most people reading this title would think “Well, I do not want more money if it is just going to bring more problems!”. In reality, anyone who has had little money and has also had more money could tell you it brings different problems. They are not necessarily better or worse, just different.
After all, you do not have to worry about maintaining your house if you cannot afford to buy one.
Which problems would you like to have?
For a financial educator, I talk a lot about mindset. And with good reason. Your mindset can make or break your financial goals.
If the programs running through your mind equate money with negative outcomes, you will either never have money or, if you find yourself with money, you will quickly get rid of it. Once you reprogram your brain so it is in alignment with a wealth mindset, you will find yourself being able to save that emergency fund, qualify to buy a house, start building a retirement fund, and start acquiring assets.
Most people with a wealth mindset do not mind the potential downturns because they know they can rebuild if they need to.
But first you need to decide what it is you want.
Do you want the problems that come from having money?
or
Do you want the problems that come from not having money?
I have been in both situations, and you can probably guess my preference.
If you choose the former, and you want to learn the fastest way to grow wealth, email me so we can figure out the first steps you need to take. Since I have options ranging from DIY to “hold your hand and walk with you”, I bet I have something that will be just right for you. If not, chances are I know someone who will be exactly who you need.
We Money Moms need to stick together and help each other rise. And, that is one of my favorite things to do.
