How To- Overcome Obstacles

That little piggy went to market and this one came home…

What an interesting day!

My Mom was going to make pulled pork for the rehearsal dinner. The pork butt was purchased a couple days ago and had a “use by” date of November 8th.

When I arrived she asked me to smell the pork. It smelled like it was just starting to turn so, not wanting to give everyone food poisoning the day before the wedding, I double bagged the pork, put it in a Bojangle’s Family Dinner box, and set off for the store.

The store is only ten minutes away.

When I walked into the store they were excited to see the Bo’s box. I assured them they did not want what this box contained.

I opened the box to show them and that meat smelled rancid.

It was overpowering!

They quickly sent me back to the meat department.

The young lady working at the meat department was so sweet, although she stood a good distance away as I pulled out the packaging. Within a matter of minutes I was back on my way with a new pork butt which we had cut open and smelled, just to make sure.

How was dinner? We ordered pizza because the pork did not cook in time. But I am sure it will be well worth the wait when we have it for lunch tomorrow (especially with a little Dinosaur BBQ sauce)!

So, what does this have to do with finances?

Our financial situation is much like these two piggies.

You may start off with a plan and everything in place, only to discover it really stinks and does not work for you.

If you give up as soon as something goes wrong, you will have nothing and go hungry.

But, if you persevere, and perhaps put in a little more effort, you can end up with an amazing outcome.

  1. Have a plan
  2. Take action on your plan
  3. Be prepared to adjust as needed
  4. Repeat as necessary
  5. Enjoy the end result of your endeavors!
