How To- Mind Your Words

Words CAN hurt.

Especially when you say them to yourself… whether or not it is conscious.

If you keep saying “This is why I can never have nice things” every time the pets or kids ruin something, you will never have nice things.

Look at how you react to the purchases of others. If you “hate” then for buying something new- or have any immediate negative thought- you will most likely either never be in a position to buy those things or you will find you quickly lose them.

You might be surprised how many people create their own glass ceilings because they do not want to pay more taxes.
However, if you change your envy to excitement (after all, if they can do it, so can you!), your hate to love, negatives to positives, and create audacious goals, you will see your circumstances change.

Now, there is one small caveat for those who are new to this: you must state the new thought as if it is already done. For example you cannot say “I do not want to have any debt”. You would say “I am so happy, thankful, and grateful I have more than enough money to purchase anything I want with cash”. If you are calling bs on yourself, you can add “it is possible” to your positive statement. As in, “I am so happy, thankful, and grateful it is possible for me to have more than enough money to purchase anything I want with cash”. (this is a good goal, even if you ulitmately choose to use credit to leverage your purchase and investing power)

There is also a second caveat, which is not at all sexy, so many “gurus” do not like to mention it: it is not enough to simply think or say positive thoughts. You must act like the person who would live like that. Think of who you would be if you had everything you are wishing for. What would your day look like? What would you be doing? How would you act? How would you dress? Who would be around you? How would you feel? What would you do with your money? Once you know all of this and can really feel/taste/touch/smell/hear it, start acting like that person, You 2.0. You will not spend like them, but you can implement the other qualities they possess.

Are you mindful of how you talk to yourself? What negative talk are you going to change today?
