How To- Find Your Rich Life

What is your “rich life”?

It is something that is unique to each person, and yet there are some benchmarks that are shared by many in the same generation.

For some, “rich” is the big house and expensive car

It could be a grandfather clock and china cabinet.

For others, “rich” is being able to travel without choosing a flight based solely on price, being able to buy drinks for friends, and having location freedom.

“Rich” may be a status symbol (Rolex, Louboutin shoes, Bentley) or a mindset (comfort, fun, memories). Or, perhaps a combination of both.

It is interesting to see how the definition of “rich” evolves from generation to generation. When you watch movies about the 1960s, it seems “rich” was summers in the Catskills. The 1980s was all about the zip codes and designer names. Now it seems to be more about memories… or maybe that is just me?

The best part is that your definition of a “rich life” can change as you change. I know there has been an inverse correlation between my thoughts of things as status symbols of a “rich life’ versus adventures and memories. Now that I can afford the things, I realize I much prefer the memories and the ability to travel in comfort. I love my home base, but, to me, a big house is a lot of unnecessary maintenance. I look at the grand foyer as wasted space (there could be another room or two on the second floor!). But, if you love the big house and grand foyer, good for you! I hope you have the opportunity to own one.
