How To- Stop Wasting Money on Fleeting Happiness

“This will make me happy”

How many times have you said that?

It could be about shoes, a purse, a dress, losing weight, meeting someone, a certain income level, buying your dream house… almost anything.

But, what happens nine times out of ten?

Nothing.

You are not happy. At least, not long term.

The newness and excitement wears off and you are off to look for the next thing that will “make” you “happy”.

You know why?

Because, deep down you know “things” will not make you happy.

Happiness comes from within.

It is a decision you make, not something you can buy.

And you know what happens while you are chasing happiness?

You spend a lot of money you could have used somewhere else.

Money you could have invested so your money can work for you instead of you working for your money.

Money that could have paid off the debt that is costing you a lot more money than what shows up on the monthly statement.

Money that could have purchased higher quality, healthier foods.

Money that could have been used for your continuing education.

Money that could have created an emergency savings account.

Money that could be used to create memories.

Does this sound familiar?
