“Wealth”, “Poverty”, “Rich”, and “Poor” are terms that mean something different for everyone.
You can use almost any benchmark- money, assets, relationships, health, spirituality, or feelings- to name a few.
In fact, you can be wealthy in one area and poor in another!
Not-so-fun fact: 70% of people in the USA- including those with 6-figure incomes- are living paycheck-to-paycheck… and similar statistics appear all around the world.
I know people who cry poverty when they are making well above what is considered the poverty line.
I also know people barely making minimum wage who are doing very well for themselves. In fact, I was once one of them.
I purchased my first house when I was a single mom making barely more than minimum wage. I had managed to pay off the debts from the divorce settlement. Granted, I had family around to help, which not everyone has, but I felt pretty wealthy at that time.
I actually felt more wealthy/richer at that point than I did ten years later when I was making significantly more!
Fortunately, I was able to use my knowledge about money, finances, and investing to turn that around (I also had some major mindset shifts along the way).
And now I am able to pass that knowledge on to you, helping you cut the learning curve so you, too, can live the life you want without the financial constraints holding you back.
You have two opportunities:
This week I am holding a 5-day Credit Basics workshop that will take you from clueless to confident taking 5 little steps. While we started today, I will be leaving the group up for a week so everyone has plenty of time to complete it. To participate, comment “Me!” below or DM me your email address and join the group.
Then next week I am launching my Money Mom Academy. As I love to tell in my story, I am the “money mom” for all the “kids” (now beautiful young ladies starting families and careers of their own) I have known for the last 20+ years. I also love to mention how this business accidentally started as a result of my trying to make helping them more efficient and streamlined. Now I have put all of that knowledge and wisdom into an 8-module, self-paced course with a fb community and weekly group zoom calls for lots of support and accountability. I will be adding retreats once the travel restrictions are lifted. The best part is that this course grows with you so you can keep diving deeper into the sections that most interest you. Even if you know nothing about money, finances, investing, or money mindset now, this course will teach you how to be the “money mom” in your circle so you can help all of the children in your life shorten the learning curve to financial success. Comment “Money Mom!” if you are interested in learning more (I promise I will not turn into some pushy saleswoman on you if you do!).
How do you think of yourself? Are you wealthy, rich, poor, or impoverished? What is your benchmark?
