You do not have to choose between your sweetheart and your savings account.
I promise.
If you would like to show a little extra appreciation, you can always choose to do something at home or choose a different day to celebrate when prices are not temporarily increased.
Do not feel pressured to do anything extravagant just because the commercials say you should. (after all, look at the origins of Valentine’s Day!)
And, regardless of what you might be doing with someone else, take a few minutes to show some love to yourself.
After all, you are who you will be spending the rest of your life with.
Here are a few ideas:
– turn on some music and dance- take a long bath or shower
– treat yourself to some aromatherapy
– enjoy your favorite bottle of wine or champagne
– write a love letter to yourself
– make a list of all the amazing things you have done
– enjoy a candlelit dinner with your favorite foods
– spend a few extra minutes in bed
– curl up with a good book
– go for a walk, run, or hike and see where your thoughts take you
Most importantly, do things you love to do. Make sure you sprinkle in some new things so you continue to grow and be interesting.
And, the best part is you can do most of these with someone else, too!
What is your favorite way to show a little love to yourself or someone else? )
