1. Figure out your current beliefs about money.
Some of these will be easy and come to mind right away, but as you go deeper they will be more difficult to uncover. Keep at it!
2. Write it all down.
How many times have you thought of something brilliant and five minutes later cannot even begin to remember what it was? Not only does writing it down ensure you will remember it, sometimes just putting it on paper (or saying it out loud) makes it way-to-obvious how untrue it is!
3. Change the thought.
For each limiting belief you have written down, write an empowering replacement belief.
It is not enough just to say “hey, that is BS”, you have to overwrite the old belief with a new one.
Since I love to compare finances with health, this is like finding substitutions instead of just cutting foods out of your diet.
4. Catch yourself.
Every time you catch yourself thinking that limiting belief, consciously remind yourself what the empowering belief is. Over time you will notice you are thinking of those limiting beliefs less and less. However, be ready for new ones to appear.
5. Repeat.
I have never heard of anyone getting through all of their limiting beliefs. You have absorbed these beliefs from generations of friends and family. The deeper ones will take longer to find and replace.
